This inaugural release from Real Gang Records' X series is notable for including the first ever solo material from Miffy and Miller, a duo best known for their collaborative releases on Draft Label, In Haus Wax and, most recently, Jack's House Records. You'll find their contributions on the flipside, with Miffy's loose, deep and swinging "Excuse Me" tickling our fancy a little more than the locked-in drug-chug of Miller's "432OT". Arguably best of all though, is extended A-side "Whales On Fire", a bumpin', heads-down, Romanian style tech-house epic from Dipp and Kevin Cook under the DK alias. With its restless electronic loops, hushed vocal samples and clandestine aural textures, it's emphatically intoxicating.
